Carrying idlers support the loaded belt, and return idlers support it on the way back. Troughing sets shape the belt to carry bulk material. Choose by belt width, load, roller diameter and shaft size. See rollers and idlers.
The head pulley drives the belt, the tail pulley returns it, and bend or snub pulleys change direction or increase grip. A rubber lagging on the drive pulley improves traction. Match pulley diameter and face width to the belt. See conveyor pulleys.
A geared motor combines an electric motor and gearbox to drive the conveyor at the right speed. Choose by power, output speed, torque, mounting type and duty hours. See geared motors.
